Visit From a Professional Travel Photographer
How's this for a job description: Travel the world in search of beauty, photograph it, and make your living selling your photos. Wouldn't we all like to do that! Well, it's what Locke Heemstra actually does.

That image is from Locke Heemstra, a Bay Area-based professional travel photographer with a degree in photojournalism from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
He has great travel images from all over, but currently his focus is on Europe, where he travels at least three times a year "searching for that special image that will give the viewer a sense of place."
Locke will be doing a half-hour presentation before the July 6th meeting; and he'll be judging our images that night!
So BE SURE to submit your PROJECTED TRAVEL images to hear what a working professional has to say about how you can improve them!
To see more of Locke's work, go to his website: http://www.lockeheemstra.com/

All Meetings to Start at 7:00pm
The Dublin San Ramon Service District Main Office has recently asked us to please be done with our meetings by 9pm.
Unless we can make further arrangements with their facility manager, that means all meetings will now start a half an hour earlier.
That includes special meetings as well as the usual pictorial meetings will both start at 7:00pm.

New Limit on Projected Images!
Now Only (2) two Per Competition Per Maker

Fifth Monday Field Trips!
Our Fifth Monday Program Nights were such a hit, that we have decided to expand them for this year.
So rather than meeting on the fifth Monday of the month to conduct workshops,
we will meet on the Saturday prior to go out and explore and share, and of course photograph.
These dates scheduled for 2009 are:
Saturday, March 28, 2009
Saturday, June 27, 2009
Saturday, August 29, 2009

Future Meeting Changes
The Dublin San Ramon Service District Main Office is no longer available
on many holidays and some other Mondays.
The following meeting will be held on alternate days in 2009:
Friday, February 20th (instead of President’s Day, February 16th)
Monday, August 31st (instead of Labor Day, September 7th)

The Livermore Valley Camera Club (LVCC) was established in 1958 as a place for beginners and experienced photographers alike to come and share the joys of photography;
with the goal to promote excellence in photography.
The emphasis in the club is camaraderie, enjoying other people's work, sharing stories and techniques.
If you have always enjoyed taking pictures or admired other's photographs, the camera club is a great place to share your work,
meet others who enjoy photography and expand your knowledge and experience in the wonderful world of photography.
The club is based primarily on the guidelines set up by
the Northern California Council of Camera Clubs (N4C)
of which Livermore is a member.
N4C is a federation of fourteen camera clubs located in the Greater Bay Area.
Meetings focus on monthly competitions critiqued by outside judges where members compete against other members of like abilities.
The judges provide helpful hints and offer suggestions on how to make an image stronger.
Our club has an equal balance of those who enjoy competition, as a means of improving their photographic skills;
and those that participate to enjoy learning and interacting with other photographers.
The club sponsors an annual beginner photography class through the Livermore Parks and
Recreation department and also conducts a number of photo field trips during the year.
Please join us!
Guests are always welcome.
And when you do show up for that first
meeting, don't be shy.... introduce yourself, ask questions and by all means, bring
in some of your work. We'll be glad to have you.
